Winter Birds

I'd heard that Starlings can arrive in big numbers in the reed beds at Leighton Moss - certainly a sight worth seeing. We saw a few big groups, couple of times they flew right overhead with a loud noise of 1000's of beating wings! We'll go again in a few weeks to look again I think as the numbers should increase. Also there is a tame robin, it will even eat out of your hand, apparently it's quite famous!

Cave Photos

A recent review of a new wide angle Fuji camera (Big Job) with IP67 rating (dust, shock and waterproof) inspired a purchase and the aim of getting some nice cave photos this winter in the caves local to me (Ingleton area of NW England).

Plenty of experimentation will be needed but some nice early shots have been forthcoming. Here is one of the second pitch of Tatham Wife Hole.

We will also be taking some video footage so watch this space! I mean, what else is there to do on a damp foggy evening on the Lancashire/Yorkshire/Cumbria border (Don't answer that question!). Actually the Ingleton police thought we were doing something else as they stopped us as we were driving home and asked us what we were carrying in the back of the car. They must have thought we were smuggling Contraband of some kind!
